Monster Hunter Wilds n'a pas de menu de mods : les mods sont des fichiers pour la version PC sur Steam, ajoutés au dossier du jeu. La plupart passent par REFramework, un chargeur de scripts placé dans le dossier du jeu, ou s'installent avec Fluffy Mod Manager ; la page Nexus Mods de chaque mod indique ce qu'il lui faut.
L'écran titre affiche la version installée du jeu, actuellement Ver. 1.042.00.02. Une Title Update peut empêcher les mods conçus pour une version antérieure, et REFramework lui-même, de fonctionner. Si le jeu ne démarre plus après une mise à jour, Capcom conseille de retirer tous les mods et de vérifier les fichiers du jeu dans Steam.
